Where's the online shop gone?
Some of my longstanding loyal customers may have clicked on the new website and wondered where the shop part has gone!
Well, having had a fully functioning ecommerce store for several years, I've now discovered that the majority of my customers prefer discussing their order with me beforehand, either in person, by email or over the phone.
Running an ecommerce website comes with a lot of hidden costs (credit card processing, time taken to keep it up to date, security certificates etc) and I had no choice but to pass these costs onto my customers.
By closing my ecommerce shop, I now have more time to really concentrate on the part of the business that seems to be the most successful and luckily, the part that I most enjoy, working to commission, designing and making bespoke special pieces that have real sentimental value.
