NHS ring removal...

If anyone follows me on twitter, you may have seen my replies to tweets by my local fire service offering to fix rings that have had to be cut off. Well, so far, no-one has actually taken me up on the offer, but this week, one of my last jobs to finish before Christmas was to fix a previous client’s rings where almost exactly that situation had happened. She had broken her wrist and her rings were cut off in hospital. Whoever did the cutting, hadn’t done a very neat job and I was told that she was more upset about potentially loosing her wedding and engagement rings than her broken wrist!

Th great thing about gold though,  is that it bends and stretches and 98% of the time can be repaired. Here’s a few photos to show how I mended both rings...

How I recieved the rings!

The diamond sitting in lots of heat protection paste while I solder in the extra section of white gold.

Both rings soldered and ready for finishing.

What damage? 😁
